The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Chicago Blackhawks in a regular season game of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The game, which took place in Chicago, ended with a score of 6:3 (2:1, 1:1, 3:1) in favor of the guests. Ivan Provorov (5th minute), Kent Johnson (12), Sean Monahan (25), Dante Fabbro (44), Kirill Marchenko (51) and Dmitry Voronkov (59) scored for the winners. Connor Bedard (3), Craig Smith (24) and Nick Foligno (49) scored for the hosts.
At the beginning of the second period, Voronkov got into a fight with Chicago defenseman Connor Murphy after the American made a hard hit on Marchenko.
Columbus, with 25 points in 23 games, has moved up to sixth place in the Metropolitan Division standings. The team has won five of its last six games. Chicago, with 18 points after 24 games, is in eighth place in the Central Division.
