The Chicago style, popular in the 1920s and 1930s, remains a symbol of elegance and sophistication to this day.
Men’s tuxedos and suits inspired by this era are associated with the era of prohibition, jazz and gangster romance. This style attracts men who want to emphasize their confidence, charisma and sense of taste.
Fitted silhouettes. Suits were distinguished by clear lines and a precise fit. Long jackets, often with double-breasted fastenings, emphasized the shoulders and created a spectacular V-shaped silhouette.
Contrasting colors. Classic black and white combinations dominated. For example, a black tuxedo with a white shirt and a black bow tie was an invariable attribute of gentlemen of that time. However, the style also included suits in gray, brown and even striped fabrics.
Premium materials. Wool, tweed and velvet were used for sewing, which added luxury and status to the clothes.
Accessories. Bow ties, pocket squares, suspenders and cufflinks were mandatory additions. Also, stylish fedora hats fit into the Chicago style, which completed the look.
